NUEVA YORK (IDN) – Una conferencia sobre el establecimiento de una Zona libre de armas de destrucción masiva (WMDFZ, por sus siglas en inglés) y una Zona libre de armas nucleares (NWFZ, por sus siglas en inglés) en el Medio Oriente parece haber sido relegada al olvido hasta que, en diciembre de 2018, la Primera Comisión de La Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas (UNGA, por sus siglas en inglés) decidió “encomendar al Secretario General la convocatoria ” de una reunión internacional para abordar el riesgo de proliferación nuclear en una de las regiones más volátiles del mundo.

UN Organizes Events Engaging Youth in Disarmament

NEW YORK (IDN-INPS) – The United Nations played host to three important events in the month of April, focusing on youth engagement. The first of these witnessed the Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) organizing “knowledge exchange” between young professionals from its offices in New York, Geneva, and UNODA’s three Regional Centres for Peace and Disarmament in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
